Support for South Carolina’s Veterans

  • Over 6,000 veterans in South Carolina have submitted PACT Act related benefit claims for disability payments.

      • For example, a veteran who served in Afghanistan and was exposed to burn pit fumes, and fell ill, can now receive free medical care at the local VA and could receive $43,460 in annual disability benefits. This now includes all veterans who were exposed to toxins and other hazards while serving in the military.

      • Thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration, a widow who was married to a Vietnam Veteran who died from lung cancer was previously denied survivor benefits, the widow can now reapply and receive retroactive benefits as well as a minimum monthly survivor benefit payment of $1,562.17.
